The Mechanics of Oppression

I have lived in London for 23 years, nearly half my life. I grew up in London, Ontario.
I will be 50 next year.
My children are teenagers.
I am perimenopausal.
I teeter at this cusp.
Perhaps I'm halfway there.
My children will leave me soon.
I am in transition.
I transition.

Going back to the London where I grew up I am oppressed by memories of a troubled existence, overwhelmed by tangled feelings which are impossible to take apart.
